JOHN 16:13-15 REMINDS US OF THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

VERSE 13

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

VERSE 14 & 15

He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

Spirit-led Prayer and Intercession

INTIMACY WITH GOD

If we want to see God move across the nations of this world, then we should learn to develop a close connection with the Holy Spirit. It's the work of the Holy Spirit to bring God's word to life.

TO BE SPIRIT-LED

The role of the Holy Spirit is to deliver the message that He has heard from Jesus to us. In other words, He will deliver that which God wants us to know and pursue after. Let your prayers be in accordance to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

BIBLICAL TRUTHS INFLUENCING SPIRIT LED PRAYER & INTERCESSION

UNDERSTANDING KINGDOM CULTURE

When Jesus taught His disciples to pray in Matthew 6, He meant that the reign of God would be made known to the earth as it is in heaven. The reign of God brings His value system and culture into existence. This was the very reason why God was not happy when people of Israel asked for a King because He wanted to be their God and King. God's ultimate desire as mentioned in Revelation 21 signifies this truth - that we may dwell with HIm as He reigns forever.

UNDERSTANDING SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Understanding whom we are up against when we pray is crucial. We can never win a spiritual battle if we do not know whom we are up against. As Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6 that we do not fight against flesh and blood (meaning brothers and sisters). Understanding this truth will enable us to pray effective prayers that will pull down the strongholds of the power of darkness. It's the role of the Holy Spirit to guide us in understanding on how we need to wage spiritual warfare in prayer.
